January 5, 2019 - Rich, opulent nose of Christmas cake, cola, dark chocolate, dark cherry, plums and cured meats. Palate is ultra smooth but full of flavour in classic cherry, fine oak and currants but depth heading into dark plum, baking spices and a woody, bushy characteristic of smoked Manuka. This is smooth but complex giving the extracted, climate allowed weight of a Central Otago Pinot. Yummy. Drinking vibrantly now but keepable for the next year or so.
