January 11, 2019 - This was stored inside a cabinet for five to six years at an average of 22 degrees Celcius - far from ideal. However, I was pleasantly surprised with its aging and quicker-than-expected maturity. This gives a firm and fruity nose of blueberries, tobacco and espresso notes come off from the swirl, leaving hints of incense and a touch of leather. This wine is powerful, full-bodied, and densely-packed with notes of roasted blackberry, blueberry compote, dark chocolate, mocha. It has a sort of modern touch due to the fruitiness, yet maintains its Old World earthiness and vibrant acidity in check - making this wine very well-balanced and moderately intriguing. Finishes long with hints of charcoal and dusty tannins. This is one of the best I’ve tasted from Potensac - fitting for a great vintage. Drink now with a 30-minute decant or from 2020 to 2030.

2/6/20, 7:03 AM - I also keep some wines for years in a cupboard which goes (slowly) from 12 to 22 degrees in the summer (UK). I've enjoyed their speeded up maturity too. I wish more people would write those sorts of details. Great note, cheers. Elliott
