Not even close :) The only thing I could really detect this was from a riper vintage was the nose, somewhat fragrant backberry and a slight pepper touch. Pure young Levet on the palate, the first glass was tight, masculine tannins, firm acidity, uncompromisng. The 2nd glass did open up somewhat, a black cherry profile could be felt around the edges, the ol Parker ‘beef blood’ adjective was certainly accurate, but this was balanced, and still fun to drink. Maybe fun isn’t the best descriptor, but I’m glad I gave this a go.
