January 14, 2019 - A migraine Chardonnay all the way through. Steely and astringent alcohol-laced lemon water topped with 9V batteries wrapped in green apple skin. Finishes bitter and hollow.

Best as a Xmas party white elephant gift for coworkers you dislike.

1/17/19, 9:13 AM - Though I generally don’t go around gnawing on 9V batteries, let alone those wrapped in green apple skin, I found this to be the only descriptor that represented the odd steely alkaline and bitter “fruit” core this “Chardonnay” had. I think I got a headache from the nose alone :)

...Hats off to those who have the tolerance for this type of animal. Maybe I’m just being too snooty about it... haha....

2/1/19, 5:34 PM - Too funny, and effective as I’m trying to find some lowered priced, but decent quality wines for a future anniversary I’m planning for. Needless to say, the La Crema is no longer on sampling list, unless of course the Excedrin is also on sale.

2/3/19, 8:11 AM - When costing-out the wine for the event, I would certainly factor in $19.95 per 100 tablets (2 per guest) for the cost of a pack of Excedrin for every 50 guests...if deciding to serve La Crema. Just be sure to have the meds at the table as part of the place setting... maybe in a fancy mini white-laced tulle - like candied wedding almonds.

However, you may save on live music costs because no one is going to want to listen to the band with their heads pulsating from the garbage wine, so your budget might benefit in that arena!

2/3/19, 2:18 PM - Hahahaha!!! You’re killing me! Too funny!

If you’re not already, you’ve definitely got a future as a party planner! Wisdom like that could potentially save pending newlyweds thousands on their celebratory events, though you’d likely get little to no thanks from them in the end.

Btw, opted for the LJ Macon-Villages Chardonnay for the party, and even purchased some of it, as well as their Beaujolais release, already. I hadn’t tried it in many years, and was amazed at how good actually is, as well as their Beaujolais, and for only $12 a botttle too.

Thank you for both the humor and the recommendation that more than helped in avoiding the Creme de la Creme of headaches!

    Cheers!

2/3/19, 9:47 PM - Hahaha... Creme de la Creme of headaches..... Well played!

Bold move on Villages, but one that will likely pay off! Even a Villages Chardonnay will likely wipe the floor over the goofy La Crema. Best of luck at your shindig! May your guests be blessed with heads that don't thump to the tired beats of what would have been the La Crema disaster of 2019. Cheers!
