#1Winelover Likes this wine: 97 points
January 26, 2019 - I actually forgot that I had this and boy, was I glad that I found it in my cellar. Just as good -- if not better -- than its older sibling, the Carter "Carter" is a beauty.
Purple throughout, with a strong nose of blackberry, blueberry pie and plum. Chocolate notes on the back end. Nice acid and tannins . Very concentrated with depth. Lots going on as this is a complex wine from prized vineyard sources. In this case, the sum of the vineyards are equal to if not better than the individual offerings; at least for this consumer.
For those who think that some of the Carter wines are too up front and/or too big, you should try this. It's more elegant even though its a full-bodied gem.
Last night, it was 97-98 points. I plan to finish it tonight or tomorrow night and if the score changes, it will only go up. Really a terrific bottle of wine!5 people found this helpful 3,889 views
