  January 31, 2019 - Cold night, so I wanted a rich wine. This had been standing up for a while, and as the temperature was plummeting, it seemed like the right time. The wine was surprising in a number of good ways. First of all it was not too tannic. The texture was actually quite mature and integrated. The fruit was still vibrant, echoing crushed berries, with some bramble and leather notes. No apparent alcohol, and only a little bit of lifted acidity in the mid-palate. It really just added an extra bit of energy to the wine. I was very glad I opened it, as the wine showed wonderfully.
