February 3, 2019 - Decanted 5 hrs. The initial lack of aromatics had me concerned this might have been corked or otherwise damaged, but thankfully the first sip removed such doubts, just youthfully stubborn on the nose. Bright and energetic, lovely dark cherry fruit that had just the right amount of flesh that I normally find in BdM vs. that of something from the Chianti region. A little wood is felt mid palate, but its more of a textural feel than anything crossing into vanilla flavors etc. Medium acidity, some nice minerally stuff going on in the finish. Again, the freshness here is the real key, should be really something in 5 to 10 years. At $42, a really good allocation of your wine $.
