February 28, 2019 - Dark shade of deep red with high optical density and medium plus reflectivity. Slow running medium width tears. Nice, intense, and inviting nose, with light plum and mixed berries (more dark than red), and some subtle candied spices. The nose is nice and complex- some depth to the inviting aromas. Fresh acidity on the palate with full body, and a plush, polished texture with fine-grained and medium intensity tannins. Really rich and dense mouthfeel, with excellent concentration. Flavours of slightly dried plums and berries on the attack. The midpalate is full and stays rich, with spices filling in the fruit. Some forest floor and dark fruit comes in at the final transition to an intense and long finish of baked fruit, leather, and lingering brighter fruits, for an interesting twist.

This is really delicious and complex, with great intensity and depth to back up the power. Really nice wine here, with a definite old world flair and plenty of style and graceful elegance. Drinking really nicely at the moment, with plenty of freshness and yet some definite developed flavour. This is really great!
