March 1, 2019 - I bought a bin end case of these from the Wine Society (UK) with my tongue firmly in my cheek due to the comments here. Interestingly they are much more complimentary on the WS's own website. I also love and have a large collection of Musar so was curious.

Left the bottle in the cellar standing upright for 48hrs so had none of the sediment issues referred to by a couple of other reviews. Also gave it a six-hour decant, and am still sniffing and sipping 15 hours after the bottle was opened.

The nose is astonishing with so much going on that it is difficult to describe. Definitely picking up the Cab Sav and the Syrah with a touch of the Rhone but almost every mouthful is different. The other three people at dinner were also wowed. Mouthfeel has smoothed out since the first glass and the finish is very very long.

I can understand that this would not be everyone's cup of tea (yes I am English!), particularly if you have a mouth full of fine sediment and it has not had a lot of air but I like it. It needs robust simple food and had been a delight this evening.

My experience of this wine has very much been enhanced by the previous comments and this is a big part of CT for me. If I had popped and poured this I might well have a very jaundiced opinion of this very different wine. Btw, this is nothing like Musar!
