March 12, 2019 - I should note that I'm more of a Brouilly fan when it comes to cru bojo - I like the the lucidity, the crunch, the sap, the acid, and the cranberry. I love the cranberry. Chiroubles' darker bend always surprises me somehow. Maybe I'm just not that good at reading labels...
So anyway, this wine is quite nice. Lots of cranberry (huzzah!), lots of young tannin that is nicely melded into the fruit. The fruit is new and sour and lively. I like it. The dark blackberry on the finish is fun, too, and likely what gives it a way as the thing-that-is not-like-the-other in my beaujolais cellar.
