March 15, 2019 - Popped and decanted. This tasting is 30 minutes after decanted.
Wine is just a luscious crimson color. A little turbid. Looks young.
On nose, wine is sound. Cherries, anise, earth. Just lovely - everything we love in pinot noir. Fairly aromatic.
On palate, wine is sound. Very round mouthfeel and super long finish. Cherries, dust, and perhaps roses prominent on palate. Great balance. Medium acid, medium tannin.
Not convinced that this is built to age but it's moot because there's no chance my other bottle of this will make it out of April. This is really, really good stuff. It's highly concentrated but not overbearing like some California Pinots. It's light on its feet, and in that way, reminds me a lot of the Kistler Chardonnays. This may be my new favorite wine.2,044 views
