March 17, 2019 - While fine on opening, this took several hours to open up. Given age, I was reluctant to decant. Translucent brick red. At 3 hours, cherry and raspberry fruit with dried leaves and musky spice on nose. Medium weight, persistent bright fruit on palate with soft tannins and balancing acidity. Complexity of texture with light/bright expression over creamy/rich. Pleasurable alone and with petrale sole over pea/spring onion risotto. This wine is at a nice plateau.
