April 3, 2019 - Deep ruby. Very closed on the nose. Strangely beefy earthy and savoury. Not dirty but certainly not something you want to linger over. Not really showing much exotic spice and soil notes that you would be hoping to see in a 21 year old first growth! Palate is quite a bit more exciting. A lot of density and complexity, beautiful ripe plummy fruit. Texture and density again. Many layers but hard to separate out indicating it is still far from ready. Very long. Great fruit with wonderful balance. 94+ on the palate!

I think this just needs more time. At least 2-5 years before I expect some of the more effusive notes described by others might be forthcoming from this en primeur case. 35 of 36 to go which is the good news!!
