  April 29, 2019 - Purchased as a future and stored since release in a cold cellar; double decanted about an hour before dinner. A deep garnet core; notes of high-toned red fruits, black truffle, tobacco, and hints of grilled beef. Medium bodied, with good acidity and structure, but missing that round velvety mouthfeel that is so apparent in the best vintages. Hoping that another 5 years brings some texture to this wine, but the acidity, which was quite noticeable in this bottle, concerns me.
