May 9, 2019 - This is drinking great right now, and I just have to say that I absolutely nailed the pairing tonight, and would highly recommend using this recipe. I generally do pretty well with that, but sometimes you get that perfect situation where the meal and wine are both elevated and it's just perfection. Anyway, it's Clean Eating's "pappardelle with spiced meat sauce," which has dried currants, cumin, cinnamon, feta, and mint in the meat sauce for an unusual but delicious take on the pasta with meat sauce game. Here's a link to the recipe: https://www.cleaneatingmag.com/recipes/pappardelle-with-spiced-meat-sauce
Anyway, so the wine... it's a medium (+) garnet with bricking edges, hinting towards tawny TBH. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits, clove, cinnamon, dry spice drawer, licorice, a bit of floral, and cedar. Beautiful nose. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of dark fruits (currant), dark red fruits (plum, black cherry), orange peel, black tea, lemon, and a touch of spice and mineral. Great showing tonight.1 person found this helpful 1,465 views
