  May 8, 2019 - Maybe I am not leaving this wine long enough in the decanter or maybe the wine does not need decanting. I have noticed this with some of the older VS vintages and I am still perplexed as this beauty opened up with an outstanding nose of sweet blackberries, candied raspberries, blueberries, nutmeg, and flowers. Aging permeating the ruby color of this wine. On the palate very velvety and decent power, good acidity and complex structure mid palate but with the fruit waning a bit, and a super long and multi-layered finish and a touch of sweetness to the fruit. Medium to full bodied but I need to try a second bottle to firm up my opinion of this wine.
