  June 4, 2019 - The first Zierfandler I ever tried. This won’t become one of my favorite varieties but it was quite interesting and well made. Toast, smoked cheese and mango in the nose. Mango, ripe peach, black pepper, burned wood and smoked bacon on the palate. Nice fresh acidity in the back. Medium to full body, quite intense and complex. The wood flavor is a little too strong for me, but it’s interesting and it reminded me of some wood aged whites from the Southern Rhône. Definitely worth a try. Can easily age another 5-8 years.
