June 8, 2019 - Simply as good as it gets in Bordeaux. I had a Leoville Las Cases '90 a few weeks ago and I simply enjoyed this much more as it was well balanced, somewhat modest and yet with profound depth. The nose was pure, deep and gorgeous with dark berries meeting up with the earth with such lush and inviting character. On the palate, oh boy, it was complex, round, deep and yet not over the top like many Bordeaux can be lately. Wonderfully integrated tannin, spice, slight bit of wood, but with subtlety and a personality embracing the whole range of qualities mentioned above and making each of them find their own balance with each other. I simply love those underrated Bordeaux, which deliver plenty with a clear soul of its own. Cheers,
