  Color: deep ruby core -> fully bricked/garnet rim. Bouquet of sour cherries, cassis, leather, salinity and a bit of smoke; quite pleasant. Presented a fully mature palate; no tannins left to speak of. Medium-bodied, smooth Cali-cab profile--a touch of sweet fruit with cassis and maybe some earthiness. Very quaffable and loved by all. Almost assuredly helped by the magnum format; seemed bigger than other recent notes. (I'd probably pass on this if from anything less than larger formats at this advanced age.) Nice finish. Yum!
