July 1, 2019 - Deep dark reddish-violet garnet in color with some very slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruits aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of lavender & earthy/dusty notes, kirsch & garrigue notes, Provencal herb notes, pepper, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full to full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of sweet dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, earthy & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. At 9 years of age, it is approaching its peak of development, but still has potential to continue developing with further aging if cellared properly.

7/2/19, 3:27 AM - Recently had their 2000 - it was not ready AT ALL. 2010 is just soooo early to drink. There is no way it is approching its peak. The only ready VT I had was 1985. Give it a try!

7/6/19, 6:13 PM - korniev: I appreciate your comment. However, based on the number of Chateauneufs I have sampled over the years, especially the Vieux (as well as many others) are presently made in a more forward & accessible style than their predecessors. Hence, their drinkability window is much sooner than it was with past vintages.
