July 17, 2019 - A clear and dark purple color. Aroma was very big in the nose and full of plum, black fruit, vanilla and oak. A rustic and briary Rutherford wine and the taste was big, but it wasn’t as complex or deep as I was hoping. While there was a lot of “dust”, there wasn’t as cohesive a taste of the fruit and oak. There was a bit of spice as well. Decent finish with minimal acidity. Certainly this is a good wine, but was hoping for a bit more. Maybe another 4-5 years in the bottle? This taste was basically a swirled glass from a PnP. Will update if the remaining, decanted bottle has a significant change.

7/17/19, 8:29 PM - OK, here’s the update. The wine didn’t improve. I thought for the price paid, it was overpriced.

We needed a little bit more wine and I opened a Faust 2015 375ml half bottle, which absolutely blew this away in terms of complexity, balance and depth. Sorry, it is, what it is. My reviews do not blow any smoke up any skirts. Obviously, no need to get more.
