July 26, 2019 - Pale ruby red with medium optical density and high reflectivity. Aromas have good intensity, with light rose pedals, cherry pit, and red tart berries with some loamy earth below. Light in body with a thin, watery texture, fresh acidity, and light tannins. Easy going all the way. Flavours of cherry and spicy cola on the attack, supported by tart raspberries. The midpalate fades just a bit, and keeps the the red fruit and spices before coming out of the hollow to yield and herbal and spicy finish that lingers with tart cherry and just a touch of light toast. Medium minus on length. Overall, decently well balanced, decent in intensity, and pretty simple.

This is a nice light and fresh Pinot Noir from New Zealand that is widely available. Price is reasonable, and the value is there. Not a super intense heady wine, but a simple and easy summer delight. Not a cellar wine.
