July 26, 2019 - First 2007 Torrione that I've tried since early 2012. Give this at least 2 hours of air. At around the 4 hour mark, this was at its very best. Full-bodied and plush in texture for a Torrione - clearly from a hotter vintage. Even so, the energy, purity and layered depth of the fruit here is truly remarkable. So much ripe, sweet, delicious cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, perfectly matched to a lively acidity. Shows phenomenal depth on the mid-palate and a very long, fruit-drenched finish. Silky tannins, along with hints of spice and mineral linger on and on. Not the most subtle or ethereal Torrione ever, but quite possibly the most flat-out delicious.
