August 2, 2019 - Blind tasting Cab & Cab blends around the world
    Served 6 of 9
    My Rank 5 of 9
    Overall Rank 8 of 9

Definite earthiness, tart cherry, light, not overly fruity. Called Bordeaux. Others did not like this, but was not surprising given what I know from their palettes.

    8/6/19, 7:11 PM - Hi Cheviot,

I was lazy and didn't make a story! We had 2 Australian cabs, 1 Napa, 1 Paso, 1 WA, 1 Chile, a 2010 Chateau Musar, and a 2011 Montevetrano cab blend.

I think its overall finish towards the bottom was a result of some more new world friendly palates from the tasters. It stood out compared to the others in its old world, Bordeaux feel. I am not sure how much palate fatigue I had at this point, but coming after a few of the new worlds certainly hurt it in the overall ranking. I would still hold off opening this for a few more years.
