  August 10, 2019 - This is the second wine of Château Lascombes, and gratifyingly does not disappoint. Opaque purple color turning ruby at the rim with a transparent edge. Lots of alcohol (14%) providing early-drinking enjoyment, albeit balanced with gripping acidity that makes this drink such a sumptuous delight. The nose gives off highly perfumed notes of mentholated black berries with notes of incense and scorched earth. Flavors of black currants, bitter dark chocolate, espresso, and lead pencil form the core of this elegant, finely-tuned second wine. Finishes on a high note with lively, elegant tannins. This was meant to be drunk young, but will provide continued enjoyment until 2025.
