  August 14, 2019 - Wonderfully aromatic and plush nose. Scents of violet strike first, with ripe Bing cherry and black plums following closely behind. There are also notes of spice - clove and allspice - cedar, leather and wet forest floor. The palate is juicy without being overripe, the spices carry through the lengthy finish, and there are flavors of game were only faintly present in the aromatics. Lively acidity and moderately high tannins (that have already started evolving into a velvety texture) give this plenty of structure and potential to keep improving for the next few years. It's not one suited for long-term aging, but this is highly enjoyable now, and I'm guessing it should continue to be so for the next 4-5 years.
