July 19, 2019 - Most recently tasted at the winery in June 2019 and this was my first from bottle. Again tasted this side-by-side with the 2006 and impressed with how the 2017 has come together since I first tried it in June 2018. Much more classic and aromatic on the nose than the 2006 with lots of floral (especially geranium) and mineral notes. Very close to medium bodied with white orchard fruit upfront and through the middle as opposed to the tropical that I have picked up in the past (serving temperature question). Tart, citrus based notes come in on the backside, providing contrast and very good acidity provides structure. Felt like there was better integration between the mid-body and the tart and acidity based notes than in past tastings. In general, this come off as very classic gewürztraminer, especially when chilled (not cold and not warm). I'll plan to try my next bottle in Q4 2019 and perhaps two given how well its showing at present.
