August 26, 2019 - This Riesling from the traditional farm of Maximin Grünhaus is a rarity. The wine is produced in only very good years, absolutely clean grapes are the prerequisite. Riesling in the Barrique developed one connects first of all with the name "von Winning". But here is a wine in a glass, which one can rightly certify as a successful mixture of Riesling and Burgundy. The nose is a mixture of fresh citrus notes, popcorn, brioche and a hint of vanilla. In the background a very delicate herbal scent, which can be interpreted as a small hint of Riesling. On the palate the Riesling comes through somewhat more clearly. The very beautiful acidity carries the wine, it works despite the oxidative aging in the small wood, fresh, clear and shows also here its class. Aromatically the impressions of the nose are also reflected on the palate; medium body. The silky, finely creamy melt perfects the drinking experience. Beautiful length.
