September 7, 2019 - The 2000 Grand Puy Lacoste is absolutely singing now, and for my tastes, seems to be approaching full maturity. An outgoing bouquet, offering up complex aromas of black truffle, cassis, crushed stones, forest floor; hints of campfire and cigar box. Medium bodied, with great depth, a velvety texture, impressive grip, and a long finish. If every $300+ wine I opened showed this well, I would be beyond happy!
