September 7, 2019 - Slightly citric fruit flavours and some white fruit, fresh green herbacious notes. Very few oxidative notes at first and not very expressive although clearly fine and delicate. Over time, the aroma profile expands adding butterscotch and almond. Good balance with fine acidity. Among the 2008 Champagnes, Rouis Roederer Cristal remains my top pick. But let's see what happens as the bottles age...

9/9/19, 10:43 AM - Interesting perspective. I think the Cristal needs at least 10 years / is delicious, but I was blown away by the '08 Dom and how much better it is imho than most other recent vintages of Dom I've had. We shall see

Agree on the Cristal needing many more years to reach its full potential, but so does the Dom I think. This clearly calls for a one-on-one duel between the two - ideally one now and one in a decade.
