September 13, 2019 - Prior bottle was a bit over a year and a half ago and the wine has improved nicely in that time. Red cherry, earth, floral and mineral notes on a nose that seemed softer, but cleaner than previously. Medium bodied, perhaps a touch over with soft, open and rounded red cherry upfront, backed with raspberry through the middle. Mid-body is much more open, more balanced and much rounder than previously. All of the dusky, earthy notes on the backside are gone so the wine feels more integrated and balanced. Fine grained tannins, acidity and lightly tart red cherry and red berry come in here as well, but considerably more in balance with the fruit than in prior bottles. The mid-body was noticeable more expressive and open than before and the backside and finish are tied into the mid-body much more cleanly. May be able to improve just a touch more, but this is very close to peak. I'll plan to open my next bottle probably no later than Q1 2020.
