September 13, 2019 - Deep crimson, with minimal bricking. Cherry, cedar, phenol nose. PNP because concerned about age. First sip was a bit tight, but this opened up well for the next hour. What a difference 11 years has made since the last bottle. Camphor, tobacco, currants, some cherry and fresh sawn wood. A hint of mineral ITG, but this is still a fruit-driven wine. It’s probably towards the end of peak, but I would guess it can last for at least 5 years from here. So glad that this was “lost” in the cellar for so many years.
