  September 15, 2019 - A proof of how well these old Mosel Auslese wines will age if properly stored. Lovely aromatics and balanced mouthfeel that blind would have me guess a Kabinett rather than an Auslese due to less sweet intensity in the fruit than I would expect from an Auslese, but also rather like something from the mid 1990s as opposed to the mid 1970s. This was the perfect match with a simple foie gras de canard poêlée served on toast with a onion-apple compote with just a pinch of moscovado sugar (i.e. not an overly sweet dish). Recommended if you can get your hands on it. According to my friend P. who brought this and had been gifted it by another friend, it was bought recently at the domain.
