September 16, 2019 - This bottle leaves me a little clueless. 2 years ago I was very enthusiastic about this Brunello from Augostina Pieri. The aromatic profile is still there, but this bottle develops (too early) light, tertiary aromas and the fruit gets light notes of oxidation and overripening. The still good structure and the character are still noticeable, but I am a little undecided about the evaluation; bottle variance, intermediate low or - contrary to expectations - already above its peak. In this constitution 89 instead of 94 points.

9/16/19, 10:47 AM - Thank you for the notes and sorry to hear about the unfavorable experience. I can't imagine this wine is out of dormancy. I could be really wrong, but I'd give this another 5-7 years to sleep before drinking window starts. These Pieri wines are super tannic, more than many of the other BdM producers I've tried.
