September 16, 2019 - My first from bottle, previously tasted at the winery in June 2019 and November 2018. Nose continues to show red cherry, spices and earth. Close to medium bodied with a similar flavor profile of red cherry upfront, but with more brightness and acidity than I recalled from either of my winery tastings. Mid-body has good depth and for the vintage, solid concentration. There isn't much yet in the way of additional mid-body complexity, but given the noticeably tart acidity on the backside, that wasn't a surprise. Finishes with spices, tart red fruit and mineral notes. After being open for a few hours, there were flashes of what this wine will become once the acidity and the fruit come together a bit more. I wouldn't expect significant changes to the flavor profile with more time, but this will certainly gain more balance. Next bottle for me in Q1 2020.
