Color: opaque inky ruby core -> slightly diffuse ruby rim; it's amazing how well these old Pax wines keep their color intensity -- no real sign of age yet. Bouquet of blueberries and blackberries, violets again and a touch of anisette and graphite. Hmmm . . . and as it sat and developed, a tinny/metallic note? Blueberries and a bit of leather on the palate. Finish hits me as a bit more coarse and shorter than I would like and shows those metallic notes I've not found in this wine in the past. I'd have to agree with those who are advocating drinking this now; I also don't see any upside to waiting any longer. Not rating this bottle as it might have been off . . . without the metallic notes 89-90.1,587 views
