  October 11, 2019 - Prior bottle was nearly nine months ago and this wine remains in a good spot. Red raspberry, earth, spice and vanilla notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied with a nearly identical fruit profile of red cherry upfront, some black cherry and some deeper red raspberry through the middle and tart red cherry, earth and spices on the backside and through the finish. There's a bit more vanilla and spice notes here than are typical for Chanin pinots, but not out of balance. As the tartness and acidity on the backside continue to integrate, the fruit should show more cleanly. Next bottle for me will be Summer 2020.
