October 22, 2019 - This is smokin right out of the bottle. The nose wafts slightly burnt but pleasant and engaging dark plum, black currant, strawberry, black pepper, orange preserves, tomato leaf, graphite and sweat tanned leather. The palate is full body with round, smooth and integrated tannin and bright, juicy acid that together form a polished and elegant structure. The sweet fruit includes plum, blackberry and strawberry that together saturate the mouth in gorgeous flavor. Eventually, graphite minerality and pepper hit towards the finish, which lasts a good while and concludes with a slight menthol note. This is really impressive fine that checks all the technical boxes and hits the pleasure button hard. It represents amazing value. No good reason to wait to pull the cork.
