November 11, 2019 - From bottle purchased at auction many years ago. This wine looks like an aged Bordeaux. A little orange at the rim with a dark red center. Nose of decaying leaves, pencil lead, and cherry. On the palate, mostly tertiary flavors out front. Some time and swirling reveals that the fruit is somewhat muted, but still present. Tannins integrated, with plenty of that Bordeaux dust, earth, and graphite. A iron/mineral element creeps in toward the end, but is not distracting. Overall, a nice aged Bordeaux that is perhaps past its peak. Don't see this improving.
