  November 25, 2019 - For a wine with a residual sugar level of 94g/l, and especially a Gewürztraminer, you would imagine drinking something rather syrupy and over the top, but this Vendange Tardive is so wonderfully elegant and refined. It's beautifully balanced with all the usual Gewurz notes of apricots, rose petal, orange and grapefruit and there is a freshness and delicacy to this that demands it being kept well away from food and being enjoyed at leisure as a dessert in itself. If you must pair it with something then fruit and nuts alongside a mild cheese is probably the way to go. Estimated maturity: Now - 2025
