December 13, 2019 - I had forgotten how great these wines can be on the young side. This was tasted alongside the 2005, and this was better tonight. Strong notes of smoke, smoked meat, campfire on the nose -- with some dark, dark fruits. Lots of complexity on the palate -- these are wines to contemplate. They went well with steak -- in some ways a perfect pairing. Plain high quality good steak is a nice counterpoint to these bold and rich wines.
