  December 31, 2019 - Mercier Brut from the 70s. Bottle showed sign of leakage, so it was with some anxiety the cork was pulled. Initial oxidative scent that quickly disappears. Albeit weak, still visible and notable mousse with, for the age, good acidity that balance the dark almost crunchy wine. No direct sherry tones, more rather sweetness that works well with the foie gras. Should have given more time and attention to this wine. Always impressed that Champagne continues to deliver even when you fear the worst about a bottle
