December 1, 2014 - NOSE > Great perfume. Big, aromatic, rich, deep, smoky, fruity/creamy, with beautiful touch of burnished, fine-grain oak. Tons of flowery fruit on the nose with crushed rose-petal/oil, & a range of sappy/pungent Morello, Red, & Choke-Cherry taking the fore - very rich, smoky & mineral-packed. Black-Raspberry, Blackberry, sun-dried brick, wild-strawberry, creosote, & mulberry.
PALATE > Rich, tight, deep, mineralized red-fruit. So Very Amazingly Fresh! Morello, red, wild, & choke-cherry, cherry-stone, rose-petal, dried-cherry/raspberry & licorice.
Medium, firm, but ripe tannins, with smooth, fine-grained oak tannins. Very fluid.
Med+ intensity. excellent length, with intense fruit carrying all the way to the finish. Med+ ripe acidity. Does Barbera get better than this? The '05 was my 1st eye-opener to this Killer bottling, & this is even better (although may not age quite as well, long term).
