January 26, 2020 - Opened and decanted an hour ahead of mixed grill leftovers, and tasted over the following 5-6 hours. Dark, murky garnet color with a crimson hue. The potent nose brings strong petrol and tar notes along with some garrigue, herbs, red roses, and purple violets. The palate is medium-full, square, compact, and heavy, bringing a muddle of red and black fruit and some lingering high-toned tangy notes into the finish, which is tannic and firm. Very well-balanced and vibrant on entry, this nevertheless grew tiresome to taste over the course of the evening. Best with food. Drink 2022-2030. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.
