January 28, 2020 - I opened and decanted this on day one, and took a quick sip, finding it rather closed, acidic and strong on tannins. Impossible to drink without food and not great with it.
However, life intervened and it then didn't get drunk until about 30 hours after it was decanted. And it's so much better!
Nice dark, but slightly sweet fruit on the nose. The palate is more of the same: the initial hit is fruity, followed by a light tannin hit and then a nice moderate finish with just a little bite. It's now a very nice, well-balanced wine. Still best with a little food, but could be drunk on its own.512 views
