February 7, 2020 - Deep dark garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackcurrants & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, spices, herbs, tobacco, leather, some tar, anise, iron, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with mushrooms, minerals, cocoa, herbs & spices. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 13 years of age, it should hold onto this current stage of development for a few more years if cellared properly although any further development may be minimal.
