Community Tasting Note

  • Whisky&Wine Likes this wine: 93 points

February 15, 2020 - This has a few points of upside from 93. Fruit is excellent. Tannins remain a bit astringent. Time should tame them.

Nose is sweet dark fruit and stony earth. Attack is broad with coating, rich fruit. Bramble and cassis give way to oaky and earthy notes. This still has a drying tannic cut on the finish. I have two more in the cellar and will not be opening another until 2025.

If I have any gripes it is the middle/midpalate. Doesnt seem to have quite as much depth as the attack and finish suggest it ought to. Throws it slightly out of balance. Maybe time will resolve this.

This reminds me of the 2005 bond pluribus while young.

I gave this a 3 hour decant at cellar temp.
