  February 22, 2020 - I have already enjoyed many bottles of Vallana’s 2006 Gattinara, and luckily I still have some in the cellar. This is a high-toned, structured, savory Nebbiolo with tremendous depth and complexity. It has aromas of sweet cherry, leather, exotic spices, raw steak and fennel; a succulent, savory, and big tannic body; and a succulent, mineral, nectar-like and very long finish. A great wine with many years ahead of it; perhaps better on night two.
