February 28, 2020 - This is really quite nice, even charming. With 30 minutes of air, blackberry, cassis, smoke, flowers and thyme were easy to find. The wine has softened, taking on a refined quality, with an easy to like, medium/full-bodied, dark red berry and earthy finish. There is no touch of heat or jam here. The effect here is the early maturing quality and soft tannins. This is one of the best values for LLC in the marketplace today.

2/28/20, 8:18 AM - Jeff, when do you think this will hit its peak drinking? I bought a few on discount about five years ago and had one then. It never seemed to come around, and I couldn't get a feel for if it ever would. I was going to sell the others, but just never got around to it. Sounds like it was a good thing I didn't.

2/28/20, 8:23 AM - I liked it last night. I wish I had a few more bottles remaining. It is already 17 years of age from a hot vintage. If you have a couple of bottles, pop 1 now, and another in 5-7 years. With its characteristics, I am fairly certain it is not going to develop like 2000, or 1990, etc. But those take 30 years to get where they need to be. IMO, 03 LLC is calling your name. :)
