March 21, 2020 - This was one of the batch of Ségla 2010 bottled under screwcap for Farr Vintners, which got rave reviews at the Southwold 'Ten Years On' tasting recently. It was decanted for a couple of hours (there was a small amount of sediment).

It's a very suave, forward claret, exactly as a second wine of a great château should be. The bouquet is excellent, very fragrant. On the palate it is soft and elegant, with plenty of fruit. The aftertaste is medium-length. Unlike the Southwold tasters I didn't think it was of anything approaching the quality of the grand vin of a top estate in a year like 2010, since it doesn't have the heft, concentration and complexity. Still, a very good wine. Ready but will keep.

3/23/20, 4:51 AM - Thanks for this! I also bought some of these following the Southwold tasting and so it's nice to get another opinion.

6/26/20, 6:31 AM - Thanks for this review. Rauzan Segla is close to being my favourite wine. I also think Segla is very good, consistent, rounded, approachable and well balanced. However it lacks the perfume, complexity, depth, finish and richness of the grand vin. But here's the thing I once had two bottles of Segla that were mind blowingly good - different level - but only 2. It could have been me and the particular night, but I also wonder whether there was a bottling or labelling issue and it was actually Rauzan Segla that i was drinking. Could the same have happened at Southwold? Don't mean to go all conspiracy theory, but your post tallies with my experience
